One specialist focuses on the host; another on the bug.
Interplay 2027 connects both.
When you encounter atypical, severe, persistent, or recurrent infection or infection-associated malignancies, what could it reveal about the patient’s immune system? When you manage immune dysfunction, which infections should you anticipate?
Inborn errors of immunity through to the immunocompromised in adults and children are some of the most challenging clinical cases we face, but also a fascinating area for biological research.
It’s time to tackle them together!
Join the ESID ESCMID ESPID Focused Symposium 2027 to:
RECOGNISE
when infection warrants immune or genetic investigation.
ANTICIPATE
infection risk and guide prevention, diagnosis, and treatment by understanding the affected immune pathway.
CONNECT
microbiological, immunological, and genetic diagnostics within one pathway.
COLLABORATE
across immunology, adult and paediatric infectious diseases, clinical microbiology, and research.
See you in Vienna, 23-25 November 2027 to connect both sides of the patient, across the lifespan
Infections and immunity are deeply interconnected, but the experts who investigate and manage them often work through separate research and clinical frameworks.
ESID, ESCMID and ESPID are coming together to build common ground around the patients and scientific questions that require our fields to work together, for better patient health.
Join us for a programme that will span from essential infection-specific immunological pathways and their pathological impairment in disease, to infection-triggered autoimmunity and inflammation, often facilitated by underlying primary or secondary immune disorders. It will also highlight the key emerging diagnostics, and novel targeted and cellular therapeutic strategies, that you will need to navigate the infection-immunology interplay in patients.
